Ophelia and Michelle have visited Seattle a few times over the years, and we think this rainy city in the Pacific Northwest is beautiful. The incredible nature in close proximity to the city, the excellent food, and the drizzly charm make Seattle the perfect weekend getaway from the Bay.

Do this
Visit Chihuly Garden and Glass, a museum drenched with natural light that features Dale Chihuly’s stunning glasswork. We’d suggest going in the daytime and in the evening when all the glass lights up.
Stop by Piroshky Piroshky, a famous sweet and savory Russian bakery right next to the first Starbucks in Pike Place Market. We loved the beef and onion piroshky (even stopped by here before we flew out for a few for the road!). A few blocks down, visit Ellenos Real Greek Yogurt and try their marionberry pie flavor.
Momiji, a Capitol Hill sushi restaurant with a beautiful outdoor garden. Huge thank you to Sandra for the recommendation! Also in Capitol Hill: Pie Bar and their delicious pecan and strawberry pies.
Two beautiful hikes: Snoqualmie Falls, which is a quick 1.4 mi hike located around half an hour away from downtown Seattle. Hike down from the top to see the falls up close. Another excellent rec from Sandra: Rattlesnake Ledge, a 5.3 mi hike. Sandra says this hike “is popular with tourists for good reason! Close to the city and awesome views.”

Loved Seattle when I visited. The Chihuly Garden and Glass was beautiful. They also have shows where professionals mold glass into different shapes every hour or so! Thank you for the recs!
