Ophelia is fresh off a Portland trip — she went last month with some childhood friends and had the best time. Michelle and Ophelia also went to Portland together right after college graduation. Driving all the way there from the Bay Area in one go was probably not the best idea, but it was enjoyed nevertheless!
Portland is the perfect mix of unbelievable nature, hiking, and of course, delicious food. One fun fact Ophelia learned this trip (shoutout to Jasper) — Portland, Oregon was named after Portland, Maine from a coin toss. If the coin had landed on the other side, Portland would be called Boston. Without further ado, enjoy these beautiful stays in Portland, Oregon.~

Ophelia and her friends stayed in this Airbnb last month and can confirm that it was perfect for people with "strong feelings about Helvetica" — a quote from a reviewer.
We loved all of the furniture, especially the Eames Molded Plywood lounge chair, and the blankets from Schoolhouse Electric.

We're testing a new section in Stay Here. For cities we've been to, we'll throw in some of our favorite spots. Let us know what you think!
Dinner at Bar West. Beautiful and delicious, and a local favorite. Thanks to Amy for the recommendation!
Tea time at the charming Umami Cafe in the Portland Japanese Garden, reminiscent of Nezu Museum Cafe in Tokyo.
Hiking in Columbia River Gorge (we've done Wahkeena Falls and Wahclella Falls), and then stopping by the Gorge White House in Hood River Valley for hard cider flights, pizza, and ice cream on the lawn.
And no Portland list is complete without Powell's bookstore, where Ophelia picked up a bunch of used books. Stop by Ace Hotel (once renovations are complete, starts at $169/night) for Stumptown Coffee and a vintage photo booth.
