Stay Here: Denver, CO 🏔️
We’re headed to the mountains this week and hunting for stays in the mile high city: Denver, CO. This city has a great mix of modern, urban, and sophisticated homes with some of the most beautiful grounds and trails to explore right in their backyard. Ophelia just returned from a ski weekend in this outdoorsy city, and is ready to share some of her favorite recs.

The Ramble Hotel
River North, Denver, CO

Ophelia stumbled upon this gorgeous, Parisian inspired hotel while looking for cool bars and popped into the Denver location of Death & Co, the second outpost of the famous New York cocktail bar. We love the luxe color palette, the velvet furniture and vintage accent pieces.
Mod Moroccan Oasis

The black and white color palette with splashes of caramel and earth tones is so relaxing.
The floor to ceiling windows! We love.

Designed by Guadalupe Canto of Davis Partnership Architects, The Art Hotel lives up to its name, with beautiful pieces of art by Sol LeWitt, Frank Gehry and more displayed throughout. This hotel is so chic and bright, with curated artwork and pops of primary color.
Honorable mentions
This neatly designed, beautiful loft with floor to ceiling windows and modern furnishings (starts at $100/night, sleeps 3).
This downtown Denver hotel described by CN Traveler as a “modern upscale cabin” (starts at $245/night).
The Halcyon Hotel has a gear garage (full of Osprey backpacks, GoPros, and scooters) available to all guests (starts at $329/night).

It’s not a Denver list without a recommendation to head straight to the mountains. Ophelia enjoyed slushy spring skiing at Keystone (a 1.5 hour drive from Denver), which we’ve heard is a little less crowded than beautiful Breckenridge. Compared to Tahoe resorts, we thought Keystone had much longer routes, and loved that it had lounge chairs at the bottom of the lift.
A few meal recs from our friend Tiff: Temaki Den, Super Mega Bien, and Uchi. We tried SMB and it was such a fun experience.
Browse the collection at the Clyfford Still Museum. We liked the focus on storytelling at Clyfford Still and enjoyed our experience there more than our experience at the Denver Art Museum, though their collection is much more extensive. For lunch, pop over to Leven right next door for incredible sandwiches!
Hiking the Red Rocks Trading Post Trail — a super chill 1.5 mile loop that has beautiful views. We walked this loop after checking out the famous amphitheater.
