Stay Here: Bali, Indonesia 🇮🇩
Happy 2023, readers! It’s been a hot minute since we last sent a newsletter — thanks for being here. We’ve both been doing all the life things, from wedding planning (Ophelia) to starting new gigs (Michelle). We’re thrilled to be back with an issue on Bali, a destination Ophelia visited last fall after a dear friend’s wedding. Summer vacation planning is well underway, so we hope this can inspire you to put in that PTO and take a break~

How incredible is this space? This 16 room villa can accommodate up to 32 guests and includes stunning open air living spaces and 4 swimming pools.
We love how seamlessly modern furnishings mix with natural materials like wicker, wood, and stone. This villa also includes the services of a villa manager and a 24/7 concierge. We saw this YouTube video tour of the villa and were blown away!

This 3 bedroom jungle bungalow boasts an infinity saltwater pool overlooking a valley, 3 beautifully designed bedrooms, and an outdoor shower. We’re obsessed with the large bamboo pavilion on the estate, designed and built by Bali-based design firms IBUKU and Studio Jencquel.
Honorable mentions
This secluded beachfront villa overlooks the Badung Strait and comes with a massage deck and staff including a chef, manager, and more! (starts at $1012/night, sleeps 12)
This stunning oasis perched in the hills: Kayon Ubud Resort (starts at $144/night) in Ubud. Special thanks to reader Melissa M. for emailing us this beautiful recommendation!
A beautiful understated villa in Kuta Utara (starts at $210/night, sleeps 4).
Do this
If you end up renting a villa with friends, the best recommendation we can give is to soak it all in! It was such a privilege to be there, and we loved staying in the villa, sitting poolside, taking a yoga class, and getting affordable massages and facials (ours were about ~$12 per massage).
Take a surfing lesson or go white water rafting. Bali is known for its amazing surf — we liked Jimbaran Beach. This was one of the highlights of our trip.
